Cambodian Phka MALIS used to be called “JASMINE RICE”, but in 2016 Cambodian government has announced to use only one official name “Cambodian PHKA Romdul RICE” for this rice. The name “Jasmine Rice” was given to the Pathumthani rice (the inferior kind of fragrant rice).
